E-learning

E-learning is the use of electronic media and information and communication technologies in education. Bernard Luskin, a pioneer of e-learning, says that “e” should be interpreted as “exciting, energetic, enthusiastic, emotional, lasting, excellent and educational” in addition to “electronic”.

E-learning includes many types of media for the transmission of text, audio, images, animation and streaming video, etc. E-learning can take place in or out of the classroom. It is suitable for distance and flexible learning.

Compared to traditional face-to-face courses and lectures, online and computer-based learning has many advantages. Classroom activities can be scheduled around work and family.

This reduces travel time and costs for students. Students can study anywhere they have access to a computer and an Internet connection. Students can choose their knowledge level and interests. They can develop Internet knowledge and computer skills that will help students throughout their lives.

Successful completion of online or computer-based courses develops self-awareness and self-confidence among students. There are also several disadvantages. Students with poor study habits may fall behind. Students may feel isolated from their teacher and classmates.

A teacher may not always be available when students are learning and need help. However, apart from traditional learning, e-learning can help students in many ways.
